The Roar of Leo

As we continue moving along the lines of the zodiac we come to find ourselves coming to Leo. Beginning July 23- August 22 Leo’s are natural born leaders of the zodiac it’s no wonder the lion symbolizes them. Known for being self confident, dominant, and hard to resist Leo lives to take center stage.

The king of the jungle came to be a symbol of the zodiac due to their courage and ruler ship that they possess. The constellation of Leo also is said to resemble a lion, or Nemean. In Greek mythology Nemean was a lion that would attack citizens. He had a hide that could be penetrated by no weapons making it impossible for someone to kill him. Fortunately Hercules came along and strangled the beast as one of his tasks. You can view the constellation in the northern hemisphere around the spring equinox through May. It can seem that the ‘pointer stars’ of the Big Dipper are pointing to the constellation.

When it comes to love, Leo is passionate and sincere. When they are in love they’re fun, loyal, respectful, and generous. They strongly rely on independence and take the lead in relationships. A Leo needs a partner who will fight through their awareness to reach their sensitive core. Anyone willing to be in a relationship with one will need to be just expressive as Leo, or risk being lost in Leo’s strong personality.

This zodiac is outgoing and faithful and tends to have many friends like Gemini. They will do anything to help others; and have the ability to appeal to everyone. Similar to Gemini they are able to unite groups of different backgrounds and lead them to a shared cause. Leo’s are rarely alone. Interacting with others helps to give them a sense of self esteem and awareness that they crave. However, with family they tend to turn inward. This is why the sign tends to become independent as soon as possible. Though they still will not hesitate to protect their loved ones. Leo has a proud sense of self, and is proud of their roots.
