Born Awake: The Story of Indigo Children.

Indigo children have been a phenomenon that have been spoken about since the 1960s. From 1960 all the way to the 80s, people started noticing different behaviors in children. They process their emotions differently, and see the world differently than everyone else. They aren’t people to be feared but looked up to.
Indigo children are free thinkers with profound sight into human conditions. Like empaths they feel the emotions of those around them including their own. That’s why they tend to be more emotional. Being able to sense the energies around you can be very off putting. Especially when you don’t know what’s going on and how to control it. Though even with all this insight indigo children tend to feel like outsiders in the everyday world. They tend to be the loners and rebels unwilling to follow authority blindly; and unable to fit into the mainstream of life.
These people came to this world destined to create change and spiritually awaken humanity. Their connection to the word lies within them. This is why they cannot understand why people do not operate with love. If they did so the very world we live in would be completely different. They operate on higher consciousness than normal with a higher level of tolerance and harmony. They wish to share this with others, but it’s not always so easy. No one listens to others the way they should. Especially if the knowledge is coming from a ‘loner’ or complete stranger.
Types of Indigo Children:
Artist- These indigo children tend to be the most sensitive. They have a strong interest in art whether writing, drawing, taking pictures etc. With the art they create it’s a way for others to see things through their perspective. Sometimes seeing situations from another’s view helps shine a different light.
Conceptual- They tend to be more technical oriented, and have a sharp intellect. They tend to enjoy keeping to themselves when given the option. Working on projects is more appealing than having to work with a group of others. These indigo children tend to be scientists, engineers, and computer developers.
Humanist- Tend to have very high energy. These people are sociable and easy going. They are also very helpful. They tend to get jobs as lawyers, teachers, nurses, and doctors thanks to their effective communication skills.
Inter-dimensional- This is the least common type of indigo child; but they do exist. They tend to be visionaries. As a child, and even an adult they may say things like, ‘I already knew that’. They bring new things to spiritually practice. They are thinkers who have vast knowledge and tend to be philosophers.
As indigo children become more popular there have been many misconstructions of them. For one I do refer to them as children, but they don’t remain children of course. It's common for people to say that the eyes are the window to the soul. However, indigo children are not only blue eyed. They can have any color. Indigo children have intense eyes due to the depths of them. When young it is also very popular for them to have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. Indigo children may have even struggled in school, but not because they aren’t smart. They have very high IQs in fact. School just feels meaningless. All the assignments that are to be done. They would rather be helping others and doing their own projects.
Traits of an Indigo Child
Spiritually Awakened- A born lightworker you may have tapped into your abilities at a young age. Though not everyone is able to do this as a child. If you feel you may become spiritually awakened there are a few signs. For example, you may feel like you’re running on autopilot through life. With this thought usually comes the impulse to want to change.
You feel destined to be here- You may feel like you’ve been placed on this planet for a reason to enact positive change. You may be called to help others with their own journey in life. With your level of consciousness you can help others’ ascend.
You may have high expectations for yourself and others.- You may push others to do the best they can. While some may think you’re too hard on them, the truth is you push yourself the most. Just remember to take life slow. It's a journey not a destination.
You have strong intuition.
You question authority.- You have difficulty blindly following authority. With this characteristic you may be labeled as rebellious. This may lead to you getting into trouble.
Indigo children have been around for a long time, and they will continue to. If you think you may be one and don't know what it means reach out. Indigo people are meant to find each other. When around others like you, you begin to understand your traits and realize your true power! You never know.
