Gratitude

All our lives we have been told to be grateful. Whether because someone did something for us, or simply because we got to wake up and live another day. However, do we ever actually say thank you? I don’t mean in passing when someone holds open the door for you either. Like true heartfelt gratitude? Today, November 26, 2020 is Thanksgiving. It sure as hell doesn’t feel like it with the world on fire, and the inability to visit family. But that doesn’t mean it’s a day we should forget to show our gratitude!

When it comes to giving thanks, one of the most important things is to give thanks to those who have passed on. The people who not only brought us into this world but those who take care of us. They were the ones that held the strength of the family in previous years to bring about you. In showing gratitude to our ancestors and recently deceased ones, it gives an opportunity to show how genuine we are for the blessings they give us.

Your spirit guides are entities that act as your guide and protector through life. If you ever feel lost or unsure they are there to light up the path for your next movements. It is important to remember to thank your spirit guides. They are always there acting in our best interests, and sometimes do so without any acknowledgement. You can thank them simply by saying ‘thank you’ before bedtime. This even opens up your line of communication with them through dreaming. You can even build altars in order to show gratitude! You can check out our article on them if you’re interested ;)

Great ways to show gratitude:

  • Gratitude Journal

  • Gratitude meditation

  • Saying a list of 3-5 things you're grateful for before bed.

  • Creating an altar

  • Sharing your thankfulness and joy with others

Being thankful is something we all should be, not just once a year. If you add it to your way of life you’ll be able to see how positively it can affect you! It even opens you up to receive more gifts. With the year we’ve all had we all could do with a little extra helping of gratitude, and pumpkin pie! Happy thanksgiving from our family to yours.
